Simpson Estate Jenny Cabernet Sauvignon merlot 2020

A short, sharp vintage at the start of COVID turned out to be one of the best, especially for red wines in Margaret River. This is a beauty. It's mostly cabernet, with smaller components of merlot and malbec. Highly fragrant aromas of perfumed violet and charry glazed fruits, with the savoury new French oak fitting in neatly. The palate is a powerful combination of blackcurrant and black olive, with the lift of bay leaf adding further complexity. Seamless and smooth with a long, sustained finish.
