When the season is good, this wonderful value-for-money wine really does come up trumps. In this case, it’s bursting with ripe, savoury, plummy blackberry notes, with a little syrupy dark chocolate. The palate is buoyant and bright, with plush, soft, supple fruit, a gentle hint of tannin and very subtle, barely discernible oak. It really is a complete package and a great wine in this budget price category.
