There is a purity and naturalness about this wine, largely a result of winemaking approach of pressing straight to oak, wild fermentation, full malo and ageing for 10 months before being bottled unfiltered. Peach and grapefruit with a lemony edge create an engaging start The palate displays deep fruit intensity which has been keenly handled with some nice oak treatment. These lighter bodied elegant and quite delicate chardonnays have been very good from Monty's Leap. This is certainly delicate but 100% barrel fermentation with about 25% new and time on lees has produced a textured fine chardonnay with a beautifully defined palate.
