Vasse Felix Single Plot chardonnay DHJ1 2025

I loved this wine when it was introduced a few years ago, and I'm warming to it once again. It's from a single site with the heritage clone chardonnay, so it is quite specific. The aroma is absolutely captivating, a maze of complexity, with savoury meringue, brioche and lightly lemony notes all swirling through an engaging aromatic intensity. The palate is quite sublime, with distinctive cracked-seashell and oyster-shell characters running through to a sustained, precise and highly focused finish. An exceptional wine.
