Vasse Felix Filius chardonnay 2025

You really are getting some high-class chardonnay at this price. It's a terrific wine, one of the best yet under the label. Slightly nutty, savoury notes on the nose, with a little nectarine stone fruit. The palate has a deep intensity as a result of the vintage, but there's also a delicate restraint that allows the wine to focus into its linear structure. Slightly cashew-like characters work with subtle lemon meringue on the palate, driving to a very long finish. Excellent wine for the short term.
