Picardy shiraz 2024

With a strong focus on chardonnay and pinot noir, some of the other excellent wines within the portfolio can be overlooked, and this is one of them. This is shiraz co-fermented with a small amount of malbec and viognier. Has a bright and lustrous colour, palish red with a little crimson hue. Nose is bright red fruits with a raspberry, rhubarb combo working with some light pepperiness. Palate is quite beautiful. It's medium-bodied, but there is good flavour intensity as you might expect from this warmer year, which actually produced some outstanding fruit in Pemberton, and this is a compelling example. The oak influence is quite light with just 18% new, but it sits harmoniously. Lovely wine.
