Picardy sauvignon blanc semillon 2026

This is consistently one of my favourite SBS releases each year. Interesting thing is that it's made up of three clones of sauvignon blanc, which have been co-fermented with about 15% semillon. The beauty and power of the '26 vintage is clearly on show here. It's a wine of intense fruit aromatics with some nice spicy citrus savoury elements. The palate is especially appealing. It's zingy and yet it's textured and above all, it's intensely flavoured. Crisp acidity sustains the long finish. This is a cut above most sauvignon blanc semillons.
