Nikola Estate Regional Sparkling chenin blanc 2023

The extra time this wine has had on lees has really brought it into the next dimension. The colour has deepened ever so slightly, and the aromas are saturated with lemony, creamy characters and that faintly tropical influence of the variety. The palate has intensity yet delicacy, due in some way to the marvellous vintage but also to the way the fruit has been handled. There are a lot of sparkling chenins around these days, and this one is certainly one of the best.
