Monty's Leap River Hawk Great Southern shiraz 2024

The first thing you notice is the colour, almost inky black and dark plummy. The nose is equally intense, loaded with a rich mix of blackberry, dark plum, a little cocoa, and just a faint suggestion of toasty oak. The palate is a sumptuous feast of goodies, flush with black fruits, a little spice and black pepper, and just the right touch of oak. It still has a firmish tannin influence, yet it sits comfortably within the concentrated fruit mix. A wine of tremendous potential.
