Juniper Cornerstone Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

This wine comes from one of the earliest plantings in Margaret River. The Wilyabrup site was planted way back in 1973 and has been maintained as unirrigated before progressing to sustainable organic farming. This is one of the more elegant examples of this wine and an impressive follow-up to the 2018. The bay leaf and blackcurrant combination on the nose, with a subtle oyster shell minerality, is classically Cabernet. The palate brings it all together and harnesses the immense power of Wilyabrup fruit with neatly integrated fine tannins and well-weighted and managed oak. This is a classy wine that will certainly repay extended cellaring.
