Forester Estate Yelverton Reserve chardonnay 2024

The intensity, power, and obvious complexity become evident immediately on the nose. This is a wine that's had a degree of winemaking influence, but not that it compromises what is essentially excellent fruit. It was whole-bunch pressed, and then the ferment started naturally with about a quarter going through malolactic fermentation. So, the acid becomes a little softer and more approachable, but it still plays a part. A small amount of lees stirring over 10 months has further enhanced the palate, but it retains a nice sea spray minerality that gives it such poise and completeness. That lovely lick of gun flint on the finish with a little limestone acidity completes an excellent wine.
