Fermoy Estate Reserve Chardonnay 2025

This emerged a few years ago as one of the stars in Margaret River, and with this vintage, it clings to that mantle easily. In many ways, a slightly tighter version of the standard chardonnay, but with tremendous depth and concentration. Similarly, it was whole bunch pressed into French oak and wild fermented, getting a further nine months in oak. There's a lovely minerally marzipan, brioche combination on the nose, and then a palate which shows some nice slightly toasty oak, roasted cashew, and some deep stone fruit and quince paste richness. But it presents with a linear mouthfeel that carries easily through to a very long finish. Super wine.
