Wherever you went in WA in 2023 you got very good chenin blanc and this one from the Northern end of Wilyabrup is no exception. Solids influence is an important part of Carr’s winemaking, and it shows here. After settling, the juice was fermented in old oak puncheons and after topping left for nine months. There’s been no fining and only a trace of SO2. It is a super wine offering texture, complexity and intensity of flavour quite unlike most other chenins. Distinct lemon scented with traces of spice and talc. So much to like about this wine.
