Churchview The Bartondale chardonnay 2025

This is a wine that always delivers with plenty of punch and power. In this case, the season produced beautifully ripe fruit, and it's been worked with wild fermentation and a mix of new and slightly older oak, with 10 months' maturation and regular lees stirring. This produces a wine rich in complex characters of butterscotch, stone fruit and slightly savoury notes. There's good palate weight, and that savoury edge gives it focus and precision, supporting those plush fruit characters. This is certainly one of the best Bartondales I've tasted.
