Aravina Estate Block 4 chenin blanc 2025

This single-vineyard chenin from old vines on this property has been a strong suit for Aravina for a while. This seems to have been brought back a little with some restraint, but it's certainly lost nothing in intensity and flavour. Plenty goes into it with handpicking, whole-bunch pressing into oak puncheons, and then six months of further maturation. The nose has a distinctly citrus stone fruit mix, and then the palate has a creamy, textural feel, but with a bright natural acidity that is part of this variety. There's an underlying power here, and it will certainly be enhanced by cellaring.
