This has a strongly fruit-driven presence about it, but when you go deeper, you see the characteristic blackcurrant, bay leaf, and quite a distinctive graphite character on the nose into the palate, which is supported by some fine tannins and some careful oak, of which 40% was new. A smooth release of dark fruits carries through to a long finish. It's a stylish and elegant wine.
