Sittella Avant-Garde El Vivero Rouge 2023

This uses a new clone of grenache, which is good for colour and drought resistance. Also has Graciano, mencia, touriga national and tempranillo. It’s a field blend as part of a program to make a better grenache to what has been in the valley. It is less tannic and more perfumed, and the intention is to make a straight grenache down the track once the other wines are fully mature. Uses about 25% carbonic maturation which brings further aromatics and palate life into it. No new oak here but only seasoned oak. This is a cracking wine of poise and freshness with bright fruit characters a feature.
