Driftwood Single Site cabernet sauvignon 2023

My guess was that this would probably be the best cabernet yet released from Driftwood. It didn't take long to confirm that. It's a marvellous wine from a marvellous vintage. It's medium to full-bodied, but it's deeply concentrated with powerful blackcurrant, bay leaf, and a little olive tapenade complexity. The aroma lifts from the glass with beautiful floral aromatics. The palate is controlled, neatly integrated with fine chalky tannins, and well-managed oak holding the line, carrying it through to a sustained finish. The wine is a result of barrel selection in the end, and it's been perfectly put together. Terrific wine.
