McHenry Hohnen Burnside Vineyard chardonnay 2024

Just like the Calgardup Brook Vineyard chardonnay, this wine also expresses a distinctive vineyard character, and it has long been one of my favourite chardonnays. It shows greater intensity of fruit, and while some characters are a little more forward, the structure and fine balance remain classically chardonnay. This vintage shows a slightly more minerally, finer, grapefruity citrus character than some previous years, but there’s still the underlying stone fruit richness that is a hallmark of this vineyard. Another exceptional wine.
