Cherubino Frankland River nebbiolo 2021

I've become a bit of a fan of nebbiolo in recent years, finding its structure, palate weight and complexity engaging. The issue has always been managing the tannins, and this is probably why, in this case, after hand-picking and sorting, it’s been given 100 days on skins before maturation in foudres. This has allowed the tannins to integrate perfectly, which shows in the wine. Medium-bodied with a herby, minerally character on the nose, and a palate that sits harmoniously with a fine weave of tannins and well-weighted oak in support. A really exciting expression of an Australian nebbiolo and a sign of a bright future for the variety in Frankland River.
