A childhood rich in Cat Stevens, Greek family traditions, and watching his father watch the world go by is the nostalgic foundation of Chalari Wines. From the Perth Hills to Mt Barker, Alexi Christidis followed his love of wine to the Great Southern, and never looked back. He pressed the first two tonnes of Frankland River riesling at his home in Roleystone, all by hand. Sourcing fruit from around Western Australia, he produces a mix of traditional, lo-fi, and experimental pours. You’ll usually find him among the barrels and tanks, or building a new winery tool. Music will be playing, rules will be bending, and the family will always be around.
