Mr Barval Riserva Chardonnay 2022

It was a warm vintage, and this is an excellent outcome. It comes from the outstanding Wildberry Springs vineyard. This is high-class chardonnay. After handpicking the fruit is whole bunch pressed to barriques of which 50% were new. A combination of wild fermentation, malolactic fermentation and regular extended lees stirring brings a complex textural element into play. A slightly creamy palate is tightened by that lees influence with a minerally savoury finishing flourish. Impressive wine.
