Fairbrossen Ambleside Reserve chardonnay 2025

This takes the standard Fairbrossen chardonnay up a notch. In fact, it takes it up a couple of notches. This is a first-class wine that comes off the Fairbrossen Witchcliffe dry-grown vineyard. To me, it's something of a breakthrough wine for this small producer and shows the immense promise it has. Whole bunches and wild ferments with about 40% new oak have worked their magic to bring the fruit to life. Lovely savoury butterscotch, lemon meringue-type aromas, and then a palate which is immensely powerful and focused, delivering rich texture to a very long finish. An exciting wine for Fairbrossen.
