Castelli Estate Il Liris chardonnay 2023

Sourced from Denmark, this has quickly established itself as a signature wine of the region. It’s a mix of clones, Gingin alongside the Burgundian ’95 and ’96, and the result is an exquisitely poised chardonnay from an exceptional vintage. The nose shows intense minerally citrus with butterscotch, light toast and a hint of honeycomb. The palate builds on that with deep stone fruit richness, supported by fine toasty oak that adds plush weight, yet all the while driven by piercing acidity that defines a highly linear, focused palate. Exceptional.
