The influence of the Piedmont variety nebbiolo seems quite evident, first with the slightly brambly herby notes on the nose, then with the fine thread of firmish steely tannins on the palate. The ovoid method of allowing the lees to influence the palate has helped build a generosity and opulence while not losing those essential structured nebbiolo elements.
