Marchand & Burch Mount Barrow chardonnay 2025

A stunning example of chardonnay off this Mount Barrow vineyard near the Porongurup. All wild yeast fermented using small and large format French oak. It produces a wine that has a distinct point of difference reflecting this excellent cool site. It's quite a tough place to grow grapes, but the end result is something special. In this case, a fine linear, expressive chardonnay. Aromas of chalky white peach, nectarine and little lightly roasted cashew and then a palate that retains a textural element, but it is harnessed and controlled with a lightly citrusy, spicy edge. One of the best yet under this label.
