Mandoon durif 2024

A variety that does like the warmer vintages to allow it to maximise its tremendous flavour potential. In this case, the 2024 vintage turned out to be ideal for working the variety, which comes from the Maxwell Road vineyard. This is typically generous and big, yet it's not excessive. The fruit has some lovely chocolatey, cherry-like characters and a little blackberry. The tannins are quite fine, and it slips across the palate endlessly into a long finish.
