Vino Volta Pezzonovante grenache 2024

The source of the fruit is old Swan Valley bush vines that are now more than 50 years old. This is such a good example of what the Swan Valley does so well with grenache. He's followed the recipe of natural ferment with some whole bunches and maturation in old oak, so it all allows the fruit to express itself so beautifully. And in this case, it's quite pretty and petite in many ways. Nice, bright cherry and raspberry characters on the nose. And then a palate that is medium-bodied and has a lovely textural graininess complementing the sweet, ripe fruits. It's a wine of poise and direction.
