Faber Vineyard Reserve shiraz 2023

Now this one is special. Having tasted many of these over the years, I don’t believe I’ve tasted a better one, and there have been some good’uns. It comes from fruit grown on Griffiths and neighbouring vineyards. It’s a wine of deep, impenetrable colour, intense aromas and a plush, richly flavoured palate. On the nose, there’s a dark plummy blackberry combination, spices, nutmeg and even a little liqueur chocolate. Then, on the palate, it reveals so much more, with layered depth and concentration, seamlessly integrated with fine chalky tannins and gentle oak infusion. This really does capture what the Swan Valley can do.
