Stormflower chardonnay 2024

A wine that combines power and elegance with a high degree of control. It was fermented in a mix of new and older French oak, which has allowed it to pick up and develop some rich texture, while the fine acidity from the earlier picking in this season has held it tight and close, giving it a precise linear structure. Citrus lemon rind notes with traces of light cashew on the nose and a palate that has a zingy chalky acidity sustaining an extended finish. Nice wine, perhaps in the medium term.
