Riverbank Estate Eric Anthony primitivo 2021

In Australia, this variety is known as zinfandel. But the decision was made to go back to its Italian roots some years ago. This is a generous and full-flavoured zin, but not to the extremes that it can be when it's allowed to get too ripe. On the nose, there's that vibrant lift of raspberry and sarsaparilla, with even a little liqueur chocolate. The palate has a medium weight, but terrific intensity. Although it presents soft and supple, it creates a delightful mouthfeel. Finishes with those sustaining chalky tannins, carrying it through.
