Leeuwin Estate Brut 2023

This is a blend of 58% chardonnay and 42% pinot noir, so it's a classic combination, and obviously in this season, accessed some very good fruit. This is a fine and quite delicate expression of this wine, which over the years seems to have become more refined and more elegant. It has a steely thread of minerality, but some nice fruit intensity, albeit held tight and close as it extends through to a sustained finish. A wine that is complete through the middle palate before it extends on its journey. Perhaps best now as an aperitif style.
