House of Cards The Royals chardonnay 2024

From a vintage that turned out well for chardonnay. The fruit was handpicked and whole-bunch pressed, with only free-run juice used in the ferment, which was split between new oak and concrete. Smoky, savoury aromatics with a hint of nuttiness lead to a palate of honeycomb, white peach, and citrus tang. The oak is neatly integrated, supporting a harmonious, finely textured finish. A lovely wine to enjoy over the next decade.
