Voyager Estate MJW cabernet sauvignon 2021

This is a remarkably tight and restrained wine at this stage, yet the colour is vibrant and brilliant, with an almost lustrous luminosity. Its light red, crimson hues bring so much brilliance into play. It has had about 50% new oak, all barriques, for about 18 months. It was started before Tim Shand arrived, and it shows some rather tight, fine tannins, but there is loads of red fruit character to carry and balance. It comes off that old block on the property planted way back in 1988. I like the lightly leafy notes, which bring another dimension.
