Voyager Estate Coastal chardonnay 2024

This was made from a warm year, yet it was picked early and then selected to get the best fruit. It is made from Gingin clones from the old blocks planted many years ago, and for an entry-level chardonnay, it is pretty damn smart. It is fermented in concrete naturally and then into tank, with about 10% in new puncheons, so the oak contribution is minimal. Fragrant and fresh, with a youthful style, it is ideal for drinking in the short term. This is also the first time it has been naturally fermented, and that smoky, nougat, gun-flinty character has added further to the wine.
