Swings & Roundabouts Brash Road Single Vineyard chardonnay 2024

If this is the quality of these chardonnays from the Brash Road Vineyard that Swings bought a few years ago, then don't expect the price to stay this low. This is a cracking good wine, showing the virtues of this mature vineyard. It was matured in French oak for about nine months, and on the nose, you start to get the classic Margaret River white peach, pear, and a subtle vanilla and cut lime combination that adds a little spice to the mix. The palate is so beautifully balanced and shows a nice minerality and crispness with a chalky acid contribution. There are spices in there and a little lemon curd and lemon rind edginess just to give it that completeness on the finish. Impressive new release, and certainly a sign of things to come.
