House of Cards The Royals cabernet sauvignon 2023

A thoroughly beautiful cabernet from this great year. There’s real power here, but also elegance and refinement, very much a reflection of both the season and the winemaking, which has harnessed high-quality fruit. Classic blackcurrant aromas are lifted with a touch of bay leaf and oyster-shell minerality. The palate displays excellent tannin structure, probably from extended skin contact before basket pressing into a mix of new and seasoned French oak. Shapely and stylish, it extends effortlessly to a very long finish. A classy wine.
