Victory Point petit verdot 2023

The first thing you notice here is the deep, opaque, reddy-black colour which speaks very much of petit verdot. It's a variety that needs ideal conditions and a little warmth to ripen, and 2023 suited it perfectly. Intense aromas of blackberry and plum, and a palate which has the petit verdot firmness, but wrapped around is some plush flesh that delivers a succulent finish. Those firm tannins control and define the wine through to its lingering finish, and it's a wine that's certainly going to improve with a little bottle age.
